تبدى بأفق الملك بدر سعادةٍ

بأنوار فضلٍ عمرَّ السهلَ والوعرا

بأنوار فضلٍ عمرَّ السهلَ والوعرا

A full moon of good fortune appeared on the realm’s horizon;

with rays of beneficence, he made plain and rugged land flourish.

ولا عيبَ فيه غيرَ أن نوالهُ

ولا عيبَ فيه غيرَ أن نوالهُ

إذا سحَّ يوماً أخجل المزنَ والبحرا

إذا سحَّ يوماً أخجل المزنَ والبحرا

He has no fault, save that his bounty,

if ever it pours forth, puts the rainclouds and the sea to shame.
