رئيسa chief حبهُlove for him بالقلبِin the heart يأويdwells
رئيس حبهُ بالقلبِ يأوي
وماand not ليfor me فيin محبتهloving him مساويan equal
وما لي في محبته مساوي
A leader—love for him finds shelter in the heart;
A chief—love for him dwells in the heart.
And in loving him I have no equal.
And I have no equal in loving him.
إذاwhen ماemphatic particle قيلَit is asked منwhom تعنيهyou mean him جهراًaloud
إذا ما قيلَ من تعنيه جهراً
أقولُI say عليAli الرضىal-Rida الأسمىthe most exalted السلاويal-Salawi
أقولُ علي الرضى الأسمى السلاوي
Whenever someone asks aloud, “Whom do you mean?”
When it is asked aloud, “Whom do you mean?”
I say with supreme delight: “Al-Salawi.”
I say: Ali al-Rida, the most exalted, al-Salawi.
