يَمِّمmake for حمىthe sanctuary of تاجcrown المُلوكِthe kings محمدِMuhammad
يَمِّم حمى تاج المُلوكِ محمدِ
إنif شئتyou wish أنto تحظىbe favored بسعدٍwith good fortune مُسعدِjoy-bringing
إن شئت أن تحظى بسعدٍ مُسعدِ
Make for the protected domain of Muhammad, Crown of Kings,
Make for the sanctuary of Muhammad, crown of kings,
if you wish to attain a blessed good fortune.
If you wish to enjoy joy-bringing good fortune.
شمسsun الملوكِthe kings بأفقon the horizon of غربٍthe West نُورُهُhis light
شمس الملوكِ بأفق غربٍ نُورُهُ
يهديguides الرعيةthe subjects للنجاحِto success الأسعدِthe most fortunate
يهدي الرعية للنجاحِ الأسعدِ
The sun of kings—his light upon a western horizon—
The sun of kings on the western horizon—his light
guides his subjects toward the happiest success.
Guides the subjects to the most blessed success.
يحميprotects ذمارhonor and inviolable rights المسلمينِthe Muslims بعدلِهِthrough his justice
يحمي ذمار المسلمينِ بعدلِهِ
وبسيفand with a sword حقٍّjustice كفَّrestrained كفthe hand المعتديthe aggressor
وبسيف حقٍّ كفَّ كف المعتدي
Through his justice he guards the honor of the Muslims,
He protects the Muslims' honor through his justice,
and with the sword of truth he stayed the aggressor’s hand.
And with a sword of justice he restrained the aggressor's hand.
دامتhave endured صنائعُهُhis benefactions الجميلةُgracious فيamong الورىmankind
دامت صنائعُهُ الجميلةُ في الورى
أمدfor the duration of المدىtime إمدادهاtheir provision لمhas not ينفدِrun out
أمد المدى إمدادها لم ينفدِ
May his gracious benefactions endure among humankind
His gracious benefactions have endured among mankind
for time’s full span; their outpouring never runs dry.
For all time; their bounty has not run dry.
وتراكمتand have piled up أمواجُthe waves بحرِthe sea نوالهhis bounty
وتراكمت أمواجُ بحرِ نواله
ومعينهاand their flowing water مُستعذبٌfound sweet للوردِto those coming to drink
ومعينها مُستعذبٌ للوردِ
The waves of the sea of his bounty have swelled high,
And the waves of the sea of his bounty have piled up,
and its wellspring is sweet to those who come to drink.
And their flowing water is sweet to those who come to drink.
صافيpure المشاربthe drinking waters كوثريٌlike Kawthar طعمُهُits taste
صافي المشارب كوثريٌ طعمُهُ
فيin وردِهdrinking from it نيلُattainment المُنىwishes والمقصدِand the goal
في وردِه نيلُ المُنى والمقصدِ
Its draughts are pure, their taste like Kawthar;
Its drinking waters are pure; its taste is like Kawthar's.
to drink from it is to attain desire and goal.
In drinking from it lies the attainment of wishes and one's goal.
فاضتhave flowed abundantly عليناupon us منfrom زُلالِpure, sweet water معينهِhis flowing spring
فاضت علينا من زُلالِ معينهِ
نعمٌblessings لهاfor them شكريmy thanks بيوميin my present day والغدِand tomorrow
نعمٌ لها شكري بيومي والغدِ
Upon us have overflowed, from the clear water of its spring,
From his spring's pure, sweet water have flowed upon us
blessings for which I give thanks today and tomorrow.
Blessings, for which I give thanks today and tomorrow.
أعظمhow great بهاthey are (exclamatory) نعماًas blessings إذاif ماemphatic particle شئتهاyou desire them
أعظم بها نعماً إذا ما شئتها
يمِّمmake for حمىthe sanctuary of تاجcrown الملوكthe kings محمّدMuhammad
يمِّم حمى تاج الملوك محمّد
How magnificent those blessings—if you wish for them,
How great they are as blessings! If you desire them,
make for the protected domain of Muhammad, Crown of Kings.
