Indeed, al-Murtada, pride of the eminent, from

The progeny of al-Murtada, of pleasing disposition,

قد ثوى في حمى الحسين العزيز ال

جار فاستوجب النعيم المقيما

Has come to rest in the sanctuary of al-Husayn, whose

Neighbor is honored; thus he has earned everlasting bliss.

دفنوه مضاجعاً شهداء ال

طف أكرم بذاك مأوى كريما

They buried him lying beside the martyrs of al-

Taff—how noble is that gracious resting place!

وغداة اغتدى مع الشهداء ال

غر أرخت فاز فوزاً عظيما

And on the morning he joined the martyrs, the

Radiant ones, I recorded the date: “He attained a mighty triumph.”
