    O delegation of Egypt, adornment of nomads and townsfolk,

    Blessed be your efforts, at rest and on your travels.

    And you who will stand tomorrow at every conference,

    Witnessing the fate of the earth and humankind.

    The homeland's hopes, with which she was once consoled

    by the nights, have been fulfilled by just Fate.

    If neither air nor steamer has carried you,

    Pure hopes and conduct have borne you.

    Indeed, those who have received news of you

    Are eager indeed for the traces and images.

    ينصفكمُ كل ذي سمع وذي بصر

    Present Egypt's case in their assemblies;

    Everyone with hearing and sight will do you justice.

    Indeed, proofs in hands and on tongues

    Are stronger than a lion's fang and claw.

    Lightning, the glad messenger, will carry the news; yet in

    the people's hearts lies what makes the news needless.

    فأصبحوا ولهم إيقان منتظر

    For how often they prayed with the certainty of one who patiently endures;

    And now theirs is the certainty of one who waits.

    Indeed, he who has lived in his valley, making it flourish,

    Has the greater right to the shade and fruit in his valley.
