Sol 6.1

  1. محمد نال قومَك قومُ عيسى

    وصاروا فيهمُ متحكمينا

    Muhammad, the people of Jesus have assailed your people,

    and have come to rule over them.

  2. وما عهدي به والعهد باق

    يزيد شدائداً وتزيد لينا

    Yet I have not known him—my memory endures—

    to increase hardships while you grow gentler.

  3. فذكِّره ليأمرهم بزهد

    كما اتبعوه في ماضي السنينا

    So remind him to enjoin asceticism upon them,

    as they followed him in years gone by.

  4. عساهم يقنعون بما استفادوا

    ويثنون الأعنة راجعينا

    Perhaps they will be content with what they have gained,

    and turn back the reins, retreating.

  5. محمد أين أمرك في عباد

    سننت لهم سبيل الغالبينا

    Muhammad, where is your command among the servants

    for whom you ordained the path of victors?

  6. نسوه فهم على ضيم نيامٌ

    وكان به انتفاع الآخرينا

    They have forgotten it, and lie asleep under oppression,

    while others have benefited from it.

  7. محمد صيحة فيهم لعليّ

    أراهم نحو يثرب مسرعينا

    Muhammad, raise a cry among them, that I may

    see them hastening toward Yathrib,

  8. ليستمعوا الخطاب ويستمدوا

    رجاء منك والعزم المكينا

    to hear the address and draw

    hope from you, and steadfast resolve.

  9. وتصرفهم جنوداً ظافرينا

    بما أوحاه رب العالمينا

    And you send them forth as victorious troops

    through what the Lord of the worlds revealed.

  10. فتمتلئ البلاد بهم ضجيجاً

    ويعنو الطامحون لهم سكونا

    Then the lands will fill with their clamour,

    and the ambitious submit to them in silence.

  11. ولا أهوى بغير السلم دنياً

    ولا أرضى سوى الاسلام دينا

    I desire no world without peace,

    nor accept any religion but Islam.

  12. ولا أختار غير الشعر كأساً

    إذا شاق الرحيق المدمنينا

    Nor do I choose any cup but poetry,

    when pure wine stirs the longing of habitual drinkers.
