After all you two have bestowed on faith and homeland,

do the foes seek a share and spoils from us?

    ودافعتما الخطب الرهيب فأحجما

    You two indeed drove the tyrants from us, and they retreated;

and you two repelled the dreadful calamity, so it recoiled.

And you two prepared paths among us, that we might reap

victory through them, should they desire battle and you two desire it.

And you two supplied us with hope and erected

strongholds for the homelands, rivaling the sky in height.

And you two strengthened us through your mutual accord,

through which you became the faith's hand and wrist.

It charges with the strength you two have bestowed upon it,

unerring in aim, clear in its paths, displaying its battle insignia.

And you two are but the two edges of its keen sword:

when it flashes, they send every sword back notched.

And before today it would tremble in fear

of the nights' vicissitudes and the much-reviled raider,

and call to its numerous sons and lament,

but find them only abased and fast asleep,

until your two reigns began, and you two dispelled

from the East a night brimming with calamities.

And you two restored the world to it, fair of face,

pleasing the eye, sweet in freshness and smiles.

And you two clothed it in the robe of justice and generosity,

so it came forth, proud in it and enjoying ease.

And you two revived the Prophet's age and undertook

what upheld the Ancient, Sacred House.

O Abbas, the fertile valley hopes

for God to keep you as the emir, vested with authority.
