If you utter words ascribing love to anyone but Mayy,
If I say a word grew not for another's love,
Then call that a mistaken utterance.
Then that is a blemish amongst words in error.

You speak truly, O heart; but in loving her,
You spoke true, my heart! But in her love
You enticed me after I had been on a straight course.
You misled me after once being led astray.

أباك أباك والإغراء في الوسط

Have you not heard the oft-repeated saying:
"Your father, your father!"—and the exhortation is in the middle.
Abstain! Abstain! Temptation lies midway.
