لعائشة غدَت للعين فرضا

وفرض كفاية عن كل فرض

Aisha has become an obligation for the eye

And an obligation instead of every obligation

أرتني البدر يمشي فوق أرض

وما عهدى ببدر فوق أرض

She showed me the full moon walking on earth

And I never knew a full moon on earth

أردت لها المجيء فقابلتني

فلم أسطع أجيء لها أو أمضي

I wanted to come to her but she met me

So I did not dare either to come or pass by

فللّه المليحة ما أباحت

على الواشين والعذال عرضي

By God, that beautiful woman did not allow

For slanderers my honor
