حاز كل الجمال منه إليه

And a handsome one, handsome in form, and yet—

Beautiful, so beautiful in form, but

He gathered all beauty from him to himself.

All the beauty in him belongs to Him

وابتلاني بحبه الله شوقا

وابتلاني بحبه الله شوقا

هكذا الحق لا غبار عليه

هكذا الحق لا غبار عليه

And God afflicted me with longing through love for him.

And God has tested me with love for Him, desire

Such is the truth; there is no dust upon it.

Such is the truth, no doubt about it
