أسنى الخرائد فلتم إنها قمر

أسنى الخرائد فلتم إنها قمر

في سائر الخلق إذ تبدو إلى النظر

Faltam is the most radiant of maidens; she is a moon

The most beautiful gazelle has appeared; she is the moon

Among all creation, when she comes into view.

Among all creatures when she comes into view

وهي شمس الضحى تلوح تحت دجى

وهي شمس الضحى تلوح تحت دجى

وعند شمس الضحى لا حظ للقمر

وعند شمس الضحى لا حظ للقمر

And she is the midmorning sun, shining beneath darkness,

She is the morning sun shining under the darkness

And beside the midmorning sun, the moon has no chance.

In the presence of the morning sun, the moon gets no share
