When slumber lays people on their sides, I have
When slumber overcomes the south wind,
A greeting and counsel for those who rise.
Greetings to the risers, and farewell.

O you who rouse hopes from their dormancy,
Bravo! For you are life to the homeland.
You are the lifeblood of the country.

Plunge into the fray glorifying, for it is only
It is but a detachment and a campaign for the Messenger.
A raid and an expedition for the Messenger.

And truth, if the wayward wound its majesty,
Indeed if the tyrants wound its majesty,
Finds leaders and governors coming to its aid.
The leaders and governors will attend to it.

When the edifice of life cracks or collapses,
Souls fall, and hearts are laid low.
Souls perish and ambitions crumble.

After its guidance, caprices have swept over its dreams,
And desires overwhelmed its judgment.
And desires have overwhelmed its aspirations.

And the homeland's sons are shackled prisoners?
And the countrymen are shackled prisoners?

And calamities break the people's backbone.
And hardship breaks the people’s backs.

Truth hurts: no flock is tormented,
Indeed, the truth hurts – not the tormented flock
Grazing on humiliation, nor are wolves shepherds.
That grazes disgrace, or the wolves as shepherds.

It was salvation for perishing souls.
Which for anguished souls was salvation.

While their hearts are empty of love for her.
Yet their hearts toward its love are frozen.
