أَتَيْنَ بِهِنَّ من شَوقٍ غَليلُ

أَتَيْنَ بِهِنَّ من شَوقٍ غَليلُ

وَعُدْنَ لَهُنَّ مُنْقَلَبٌ جَليلُ

وَعُدْنَ لَهُنَّ مُنْقَلَبٌ جَليلُ

They came, a burning thirst of longing within them,

They came, longing drove them,

And they returned, theirs a glorious homecoming.

And for them a great return awaited,

خَرَجْنَ من الخدورِ مُهاجِراتٍ

خَرَجْنَ من الخدورِ مُهاجِراتٍ

فلا دَعَةٌ ولا ظِلٌّ ظَليلُ

فلا دَعَةٌ ولا ظِلٌّ ظَليلُ

They left their secluded chambers as emigrants,

They left the tents, emigrants,

So there is neither ease nor sheltering shade.

No shade or thick shade for shelter.

يَسِرْنَ مع النَّبيِّ على سواءٍ

يَسِرْنَ مع النَّبيِّ على سواءٍ

ولا هادٍ سِواهُ ولا دَليلُ

ولا هادٍ سِواهُ ولا دَليلُ

They journey with the Prophet on equal footing,

They walked with the Prophet in parity,

And have no guide or pathfinder but him.

None to guide but him, no other guide.

يُرِدْنَ الله لا يَبغِينَ دُنيا

يُرِدْنَ الله لا يَبغِينَ دُنيا

كثيرُ مَتاعِها نَزْرٌ قَلِيلُ

كثيرُ مَتاعِها نَزْرٌ قَلِيلُ

They seek God, not this worldly life,

Seeking God, not desiring the world,

Even its abundant goods are scant and few.

Plentiful are its goods, a trifle.

عَقَائِلُ في حِمَى الإسلامِ يَسْمُو

عَقَائِلُ في حِمَى الإسلامِ يَسْمُو

بِهِنَّ مِنَ العُلَى فَرْعٌ طَوِيْلُ

بِهِنَّ مِنَ العُلَى فَرْعٌ طَوِيْلُ

Noble women in Islam's sanctuary; there rises

The clans under Islam's protection soar,

Through them a tall branch of exalted glory.

Through them the highest branch grows long.

يَفِئْنَ إلى صَفِيَّةَ حيث كانت

يَفِئْنَ إلى صَفِيَّةَ حيث كانت

وكان سَبيلُها نِعْمَ السَّبيلُ

وكان سَبيلُها نِعْمَ السَّبيلُ

They return to Safiyya wherever she is,

Returning to Safiyya wherever she was,

And excellent indeed was her path.

And her path was most excellent.

عَلَيْها من رسولِ الله وَسْمٌ

عَلَيْها من رسولِ الله وَسْمٌ

مُبينُ العِتقِ وضّاحٌ جَميلُ

مُبينُ العِتقِ وضّاحٌ جَميلُ

Upon her is a mark from the Messenger of God,

Upon her from God's Messenger a clear

Clearly showing her freedom, radiant and beautiful.

Sign of freedom, radiant and beautiful.

عَشِيرَةُ سُؤْدُدٍ وقَبيلُ مَجْدٍ

عَشِيرَةُ سُؤْدُدٍ وقَبيلُ مَجْدٍ

فَبُورِكَتِ العَشيرةُ والقَبيلُ

فَبُورِكَتِ العَشيرةُ والقَبيلُ

A clan of eminence and a tribe of glory,

The family of glory and the tribe of renown,

So blessed be the clan and the tribe.

Blessed thus the clan and the tribe.

يُجَرِّدْنَ النُّفوسَ مُجاهِداتٍ

يُجَرِّدْنَ النُّفوسَ مُجاهِداتٍ

بِحَيْثُ يُجرَّدُ العَضْبُ الصَّقِيلُ

بِحَيْثُ يُجرَّدُ العَضْبُ الصَّقِيلُ

They unsheathe their souls, striving in battle,

Baring souls, fighting,

Where the keen, polished sword is drawn.

As the polished blade is bared.

فَلا ضَعْفٌ يَعوقُ ولا لُغُوبٌ

فَلا ضَعْفٌ يَعوقُ ولا لُغُوبٌ

ولا وَلَدٌ يَشوقُ ولا حَلِيلُ

ولا وَلَدٌ يَشوقُ ولا حَلِيلُ

So no weakness hinders them, nor weariness,

No weakness to hinder, no cowardice,

Nor does a child stir their longing, nor a husband.

No child to yearn for, no husband.

نِساءُ الصِّدْقِ ما فِيهِنَّ عَيْبٌ

نِساءُ الصِّدْقِ ما فِيهِنَّ عَيْبٌ

وليس لَهُنَّ في الدنيا مَثيلُ

وليس لَهُنَّ في الدنيا مَثيلُ

Women of truth, with no fault in them,

Women of truth, no fault in them,

And they have no equal in this world.

And none like them in the world.

أَخَذْنَ عَطَاءَهُنَّ على حَياءٍ

أَخَذْنَ عَطَاءَهُنَّ على حَياءٍ

يَزيدُ جَمالَهُ الخُلُقُ النَّبيلُ

يَزيدُ جَمالَهُ الخُلُقُ النَّبيلُ

They accepted their gifts with modesty,

Taking their gift with modesty,

Noble character enhances its beauty.

Increased in beauty by noble manners.

لَئِنْ قَلَّ الذي أُوتِينَ مِنْهُ

لَئِنْ قَلَّ الذي أُوتِينَ مِنْهُ

فأجرُ الله مَوفورٌ جَزيلُ

فأجرُ الله مَوفورٌ جَزيلُ

Even if what they were given of it was little,

If little was granted them,

Yet God's reward is abundant and bountiful.

God's reward is plentiful and grand.
