The homes and homelands are empty of you,
The homes are empty of you, and the homelands,
And fate has pronounced its judgment against you.
And the vicissitudes of time have passed their judgement on you.

Were you not yesterday a towering palace,
Around which the vicissitudes of your age trembled?
Whose corners the epochs made tremble on their foundations?

And its pillars rose to their full heights.

The wind of fate never ceased raging,
O you who defend Islam against its enemies!
Until that edifice collapsed.
Neither injustice nor aggression ever exceeded you.

O you who won justice for Islam against its enemies,
Do you slumber in the face of a condition that makes
Neither oppression nor aggression has passed it by.

Do you sleep, heedless of a plight such as would keep
Arise to struggle - the time for rest has not come -
Graves stirring and shrouds taking fright?
The outcry is raised and the horsemen have ridden.

War keeps vigil, and the soldiers are heroes,
The cry for help rang out, and horsemen wheeled about.

War is awake, and the soldiers are valiant;
Arise in your armor - none but you is fit
When, then, will the drowsy commander awaken?
To bear a cutting blade and sharp spear.

Except a keen sword and a spearhead.

Dedicated to God, devotion fills his breast,
Whose banner is high and whose weapon is the Quran?
And faith fills his heart.

He casts and meets death, never sparing himself,
With piety, and his heart with faith.
For he who spares himself is a coward.

The unlawful shedding of blood restrains him from the greed and cowardice of fools,
Surely, one who spares himself is a coward.
For the sanctity of blood must be preserved.

Is that sacred things are safeguarded with blood.
Swords grow dull, but its edge stays sharp.

Abdul Hamid! Does not a cry shake you,

Abd al-Hamid, does no cry stir you—
Islam has cast into it a fire whose flames
A cry that has terrified regions and lands?

Through it Islam cast forth a darting fire,
At losing you his soul overflowed with sorrow
And lo, the ribs and hearts are smoke.
As if it were a volcano.

Were you not a refuge for old and young Muslims
Within its heart, so that it seemed a volcano.

Where the gray-haired and the young sought shelter?
Wherein lies protection and safety for your people.

It hurts you when the weak are unjustly cast down
That brought your people protection and safety.
By the most tyrannical of natures, whose habit is oppression.

It pains you that the weak should be subjected to a tyrant,
And it provokes your anger when a Muslim's right is lost
Savage in character, whose habit is tyranny.
And he is subjected to harm and humiliation.

And it rouses your anger that a Muslim should lose
You were not like one who sleeps contentedly
A right, and be beset by harm and humiliation.
While his neighbors around him starve.

You were not like the callous man who spends the night in luxury,
The Aqsa mosque is humbled at your death,
While his neighbors spend it wailing around him.
And the Kaaba, after you, is in mourning clothes.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is bowed in sorrow at your death,
And your death has marked the Madina
And the House, after you, is distraught and sorrowful.
With a sign of sorrow - the title page of grief.

And Medina bears a sign of the calamity of your loss:
When suddenly the pulpits were emptied of you,
It is the title of sorrow and of its book.
No place remained untouched by agony for you.

For your time and its length you have
No place was empty of grief for you.
Responsibility and a pledge against events.

You have from your age, for long and lasting endurance,
Generations will contend in remembering you kindly,
And from events, a covenant and a guarantee.
Fragrant, and times will chant your name.

Generations vie for your sweet memory,
Decay has no command over the highest genius,
Fragrant, while the ages call out your name.
Nor does it have dominion.

Over lofty achievements of genius, decay has
Journey through the ages and rise above their pinnacles
No command that is obeyed, nor any dominion.
As a flag giving light by which caravans are guided.

Journey through the ages and stand upon their summits,
Ascend to your place in the firmament,
A beacon that shines, so riders find their way.
For there you soar where eagles soar.

For your reach is where the eagles soar.
What the hastening pilgrim seeks.

That no life or Umar attained.

Until you settled in a dwelling with God,
Live there as a good neighbor, content;
A place neither Umar nor Uthman passed beyond.

The banner has not fallen, nor is the battlefield deserted.
And the matter is sound, nothing is lacking.

Truth has its onslaught and the fierceness of its might,
to those who war against its host.
And those who fight its army are forsaken.

Its appearance would not have triumphed, nor would its prestige have been great.
Its manifestation would not be mighty, nor its standing great.

In darkness, as if blind.
In confusion, as though they were blind.

Evil has an earthquake; the earth's peoples spend the night
Quake from it, and for harm a deluge.
Shuddering from it, and harm has a deluge.

At what humankind does and makes.

Or the civilized world's idols?
O world of civilization, or is it idols?
