Take me to the House of Deputies, and ask
Take me to the prosecutor's office and ask
my victims about my might and the true mettle I showed.
My victims about my ferocity and the truth of my affliction
كأنّas though صُفوفَthe ranks القومِof the people فيin جَنَباتِهاits precincts
كأنّ صُفوفَ القومِ في جَنَباتِها
إذاwhen جدَّتِgrew fierce الهيجاthe battle صَفيفُslices شُواءِof roasted meat
إذا جدَّتِ الهيجا صَفيفُ شُواءِ
It is as though the people's ranks within its precincts,
As if the ranks of the people on their sides
when battle grows fierce, were slices of roasted meat.
