Salute al-Kinana, and see how she remembers;
Awaken the hidden talents and see how they blossom
and recall her deeds, one after another, rushing forth.
And remember to add grace upon grace as it pours forth

يمشي الشّبابُ بها حَرَّانَ يَستعرُ
The fluttering flags hastened to shade her;
The banners flutter providing shade as the youth
the young march through her, ardent and aflame.
Walk under them, passionate and alight

They march toward glory: its landmarks have not vanished,
They walk toward glory, its features never fading
nor have its radiant path and its traces faded.
As time passes gently by without erasing its traces

For whoever has a passion for glory and seeks it,
Whoever desires glory pursues it
the paths are wide, and the light is spread abroad.
The paths are wide and the light is spread

We shall surely guard the forefathers' legacy, so
We will surely protect the heritage of our forebears
the bones do not lament, nor the graves cry out for help.
So the bones need not cry out nor the graves complain

Tell the young: remember him who kept you in mind,
Say to the youth: remember those who remembered you
when you were embryos waiting in the folds of the unseen;
As embryos in the folds of the unknown awaiting their turn

the giver of his life, who knows no fear and does not withhold it
The one who gives his soul without fear of sacrifice
at sacrifice, nor does he refuse and offer excuses;
Never refusing at the moment of redemption

And the steadfast hero who protects both valleys when

The zealous defenders slumber and the watchman sleeps

Do not deny what we witnessed before your birth:
Do not forget what we witnessed before your birth
indeed, he called you, and your forms answered.
It called out to you and you came in multitudes

Had he yielded to the usurping aggressor, he would have bequeathed you
If not for us, the tyrant invader would have left you
a life of humiliation, with neither honor nor standing—
The humiliation of life, no honor or glory
