In the Messenger's wisdom there is indeed a lesson
for a discerning person endowed with reason and understanding.

God tore down what the covenant had built of
hopes for a people seeking to tear down the faith.

إنّه السيلُ مُوشِكٌ أن يَعُمَّا
Let not a trickle of rain deceive them:
it is a flood about to sweep over all.

It kept striking the tyrants until
it made them drink two griefs: loss of children and orphanhood.

After gentleness and weakness, truth indeed has
a strength that cuts falsehoods down decisively.
