Repeat the message and say: Yes!

Hope has answered, and aspiration has responded.

Yes, thus let kings speak out

on peoples' rights and the affairs of states.

Yes, thus let rank be exalted,

the aim grow lofty, and the ideal rise high.

I see the East quiver at what it has seen,

as one drunk with rapture sways.

The kings' courier appeared there in splendor,

    carrying kingdoms within its load;

    carrying Kinana in her glory

and the splendor of the earliest conquerors.

    Her processions advance in grandeur,

the lands and roads cheer for them.

    Processions unfettered and free,

shunning bridal chambers and rejecting weariness.

Kings of Kinana, go forward with her,

for she has roused herself after long weariness.

Nor has she swerved from lofty pursuits,

whether deliberate or hasty in her affairs.

Light the mountain passes and train the riding camels,

if an unruly one among them bolts or shies.

How fine, then, the straight and safe road,

and how fine the willing, docile mounts!

And her best equipment is resolve,

    before which calamity melts or vanishes;

and counsel that guides her steps aright

and keeps her feet from slipping.

    فَكانَ السُكوتُ لِأَمرٍ جَلَلْ

    You kept silent while the peoples clamored, calling out;

that silence, then, was for a momentous matter.

Who, then, denies it today, or who will say:

“A land of empty air, a people left untended”?

We repeat the message whenever anyone doubts,

and expound it whenever he does not know.

We have made it our supplication in prayer,

when our worshipper falls prostrate, imploring.

I say to Egypt—and Egypt is life,

the life of an everlasting, unbroken tomorrow—

Your people have indeed striven earnestly for their cause,

so they neither slacken nor rely on others.

God, your Lord, has decreed that you cast off

the shackles of humiliation, and that your people gain independence.
