إلىto المجدglory إنّاindeed we بنوهits sons الكرامْnoble

To glory—for we are its noble sons.

ندينُwe adhere مدىthroughout الدّهرall time بينamong الأنامْhumankind
ندينُ مدى الدّهر بين الأنامْ
بدينto the faith of المعاليlofty deeds ودنياand the world of الهِمَمْhigh resolve
بدين المعالي ودنيا الهِمَمْ
Through all the ages, among humankind, we profess
Throughout all time, among humankind, we adhere
the creed of lofty ideals and the world of high resolve.
To the faith of lofty deeds and the world of high resolve.
أوائلُناour forebears زلزلواshook الراسياتْthe firmly rooted mountains
أوائلُنا زلزلوا الراسياتْ
أنرقدُshall we sleep? نحنwe معwith الرّاقدينْthose who sleep
أنرقدُ نحن مع الرّاقدينْ
Our forebears shook the firmly rooted mountains.

Shall we slumber among the slumbering?
Shall we sleep with those who sleep?
بِسرِّwith the secret of الوجودِexistence ومعنىand the meaning of الحياةْlife
بِسرِّ الوجودِ ومعنى الحياةْ
تَنزّلَdescended فيناamong us الكتابُthe Book المبينْclear
تَنزّلَ فينا الكتابُ المبينْ
Bearing the secret of existence and the meaning of life,
With the secret of existence and the meaning of life,
the Clear Book descended among us.

أهابcalled الحمىthe protected homeland بِحُماةِupon the defenders of الذّمارْhonor and what one must defend
أهاب الحمى بِحُماةِ الذّمارْ
فأينso where اللّواءُthe banner وأينand where البطلْthe hero
فأين اللّواءُ وأين البطلْ
The homeland called upon the defenders of its honor—
The homeland called upon the defenders of honor.
so where is the banner, and where the champion?
So where is the banner, and where is the hero?
شبابَO youth البلادِthe land البِدارَmake haste البِدارْmake haste
شبابَ البلادِ البِدارَ البِدارْ
فإنّfor indeed الحياةَlife حياةُa life of العملْaction
فإنّ الحياةَ حياةُ العملْ
Youth of the land—the land! Hasten!
Youth of the land, make haste, make haste!
For life is the life of work.
For life is a life of action.
إلىto المجدglory ماnot منany سَبيلٍpath سِواهْother than it
إلى المجد ما من سَبيلٍ سِواهْ
فنعمso excellent is السَّبيلُthe path سبيلthe path of الفلاحْsuccess
فنعم السَّبيلُ سبيل الفلاحْ
To glory—there is no road but through work.
To glory! There is no path but the way to it.
How fine the setting forth upon the road to success!
How fine, then, is the path—the path to success!
سلواask كلّevery ذيone with مأربٍa goal هلwhether قَضاهْhe attained it
سلوا كلّ ذي مأربٍ هل قَضاهْ
بغيرwithout الجهادِstriving وطولِand the length of الكفاحْstruggle
بغير الجهادِ وطولِ الكفاحْ
Ask everyone with an aim whether they achieved it
Ask anyone with a goal: has he attained it
without striving and a long struggle.
