O mission of hope whose flank is verdant,

Through it live the two hopeful ones: the people and the homeland.

Journey to the western horizon from a horizon

Whose crescent moons you are; through them afflictions are dispelled.

And tell the people that we are a nation that has known

The meaning of life, so there is neither sleep nor weakness.

And that you are the forefathers' envoys, sent forth

So that a heritage held in pledge there may be returned.

If they boast or say, “A nation toyed with

By hands, and whose fortune time has made wretched,”

Then remind them of blessed monuments,

Which they adored in the youth of time and were captivated by.

    تَنهَض جُدودُ رِجالٍ طالَما غُبِنوا

    Return to Egypt tomorrow with abundant good fortune;

The fortunes of men long cheated will rise.

Restore to her the precious life of glory,

For a life of no worth has afflicted her.
