He left the kings—the kings of Kindah—and made for
He left the kings, the kings of Kindah, and withdrew,
the one who leaves crowns with their bonds weakened.
Who would leave the crowns, the delusive adornments?

Welcome, Urwah! Yours is indeed an arrival
Welcome, O Urwah, he is indeed your guide,
of good fortune; what you witness or see is enough for you.
Auspicious and your lineage suffices you, whatever you see or perceive.

The Prophet turned kindly toward you, and his heart opened,
The Prophet was kind to you and his soul expanded for you,
revealing to you his stature and his outward bearing.
To show you his place and appearance.

The day of the Romans was not among his aims;
The day of the Romans was not of its circumstances,
rather, he stirred your soul, admonishing and reminding.
But it shook your soul, admonishing and reminding.

What Islam bequeathed your people brought them more
What inheritance did Islam give your people, increasing them
good, and was nobler and greater for them.
In goodness, and it was for them the greatest and biggest.

The age of ignorance—its traces have faded
The Ignorance has erased its traces among them
among them, and its era has now receded.
And its time has passed away.

It was death to them; behold their life
It was death for them while this is their life
under Islam's rule, with lofty summits.
In the lofty state of Islam.
هذاthis رفيقُكyour companion ماnot لقومِكَfor your people غيرُهother than him
نِعمَexcellent is الرفيقُthe companion إذاwhen اللّبيبُthe discerning man تَخَيَّراchooses carefully
This is your companion; your people have no other.
This is your companion, your people have no other than him,
What a fine companion when a discerning man chooses!
An excellent companion when the sensible one makes his choice.

Indeed, I have entrusted Khalid with their alms,
I have made their charities for Khalid
to be collected and brought to me—how worthy and deserving he is!
To be collected for me, and that is the most right and appropriate.

And I have indeed appointed you an official, so be a man
And I have appointed you as a worker, so be a man
made ready for good in every affair.
Who facilitates good in all affairs.

Go forth, both of you, with your Lord's blessings, and do not
Walk in the blessings of both your Lords, and do not
falter if anyone falters or falls short.
Despair when someone despairs or is negligent.
