Beheira's delegation came in willing obedience to its conviction,

gratefully paying you what is assuredly your due.

You fortified the country's constitution and safeguarded it

from becoming a harmful affliction to your people.

Those who forsook Egypt, the Quiver, refuse to see

a champion for the Quiver's sons in times of hardship.

If they desist, he forgives; and if they rebel,

they will find you a conqueror, overwhelming in stern resolve.

Rule the country rejects as a source of shame is not

like rule the country recognizes as a source of pride.

They seek aid against you from their country's foe,

so he reproaches them and turns away from them in scorn.

You are the one blamed, even though you have fulfilled your duty to her:

why do you guide the blind and lead the bewildered?
