إذا صور الدنيا المصور ظاهرا

فابدى لنا سهلا وحزنا ونحوه

When the painter depicts the world's outward form,

If the artist depicts the world apparently,

and shows us plains, rugged terrain, and the like,

Show us ease and sorrow and the like,

تكفل بالباقي كفيل جوائبي

فصور مكنون الضمير ونحوه

فصور مكنون الضمير ونحوه

the patron of my Jawāʾib takes charge of the rest,

My innermost thoughts will handle the rest,

and depicts what lies hidden in the heart and the like.

So portray the hidden conscience and the like.
