أرى غاية اللذات قبل ابتدائها

أرى غاية اللذات قبل ابتدائها

فمن أجل هذا لست أنعم في الدنيا

فمن أجل هذا لست أنعم في الدنيا

I see the end of pleasures before they begin.

I see the height of pleasures before they start

So for this reason I take no pleasure in this world.

So for this reason I do not delight in life

فإن هي إلا للذي طاش فكره

فإن هي إلا للذي طاش فكره

فلا يرهب العقبى ولا يرقب الثنيا

فلا يرهب العقبى ولا يرقب الثنيا

For it is only for one whose mind has gone astray,

For it is but for one whose mind has gone astray

So he neither fears the final outcome nor anticipates a reversal.

Who neither dreads what comes after nor awaits return
