كابدت من زمني كوارث جمة

كابدت من زمني كوارث جمة

وامرها في مرها ثنتان

وامرها في مرها ثنتان

I have endured many calamities from my times;

I have endured immense disasters in my time

And, in all their bitterness, the bitterest are two:

Yet they come in two forms:

لغة الجنان اذا هذت في مدح قا

لغة الجنان اذا هذت في مدح قا

رى لغوها وسياحة البستاني

رى لغوها وسياحة البستاني

The language of al-Jinān when it babbles in praise of the rea-

When the tongue of heavens praises an arid site
