1. حسن الرِياض بِساقي

    يَسعى بِكَأس دَهاق

    The gardens' beauty lies in a cupbearer

    Who hastens with a brimming cup,

  2. يَشوبَها بِرِضاب

    مِن فيهِ حُلو المَذاق

    Mixing it with saliva

    From his mouth, sweet to the taste;

  3. وَمَسمَع يَتَغنى

    وفق اِقتِراح الرِفاق

    And a singer who sings

    As the companions request;

  4. وَمُمتع بِحَديث

    مُسَلسل رَقراق

    And one who delights with talk,

    Unbroken and limpid.

  5. فَإِن تَعَذَر هَذا

    فَما لَها مِن خَلاق

    But if this cannot be had,

    Then they have no share of delight.
