فَهَل لَهمي فَرجُ
The blaze has melted my heart.
My glowing heart is melted,
Is there, then, relief for my sorrow?
Is there relief for my anxiety?

Nothing remains to me but remnants
Nothing remains for me but a trickle,
of a last spark of life, still quivering.

And I am smitten with one fair and radiant,
While in me a mountain white like hail,
upon whose cheeks is a crimson flush.

Passion is stirred in lifeless matter
Finding ecstasy in beauty,
by a coquettish glance from him.
With a supple glance that enchants,

In his cheek the water of life,

Angered by my love for him,

He has immersed himself in my embrace,
so my eye's tears are deep seas.

Love is a disturbing house,
souls melt within it.
