حسن الرِياض بِساقي

يَسعى بِكَأس دَهاق

يَسعى بِكَأس دَهاق

The gardens' charm lies in a cupbearer

Who goes about with a brimming cup,

يَشوبَها بِرِضاب

يَشوبَها بِرِضاب

مِن فيهِ حُلو المَذاق

مِن فيهِ حُلو المَذاق

Mixing it with saliva

From his mouth, sweet to the taste;

وَمَسمَع يَتَغنى

وَمَسمَع يَتَغنى

وفق اِقتِراح الرِفاق

وفق اِقتِراح الرِفاق

And a singer who sings

As the companions request;

وَمُمتع بِحَديث

وَمُمتع بِحَديث

مُسَلسل رَقراق

مُسَلسل رَقراق

And one who delights with conversation,

Continuous and limpid.

فَإِن تَعَذَر هَذا

فَإِن تَعَذَر هَذا

فَما لَها مِن خَلاق

فَما لَها مِن خَلاق

So if this proves unattainable,

Then they have no share of delight.
