لَيتَ حَظي مِن أَبي كَربٍ

أَن يَرِدَّ خَيرَهُ خَبلُهُ

أَن يَرِدَّ خَيرَهُ خَبلُهُ

Would that my share from Abu Karb

If only my fate from the father of distress

were that his harm should cancel out his good.

Would bring back his goodness through his slip
