    Being—and it is enough for me to say: Being.

    Its generosity and bounty are from itself, bestowed upon itself.

    It transcends the attribute of perfection, for that

    burdens it by implying the possibility of deficiency within it.

    Yet within it are perfection and its opposite,

    its own, from itself; and the whole stands firm within it.

    And the noblest of enclosing shapes is that through which

    its spheres are rounded; their good fortune comes from it.

    For they encompass all shapes within themselves,

    and from them these begin, and to them return.

    And their power bestows diversity in its entirety,

    so nothing surpasses them in perfection,

    save the power of absoluteness, which is all-encompassing:

    by its might, all spheres perish.

    Likewise, revolving motions are the noblest means by which

    a body moves to attain its aims.

    فَفِي كُلِّ آنٍ خَلْقُهُنَّ جَدِيدُ

    Thus they encompass every kind of motion;

    at every instant, their creation is renewed.

    وْفِيهَا لَهَا فِيمَا تَرُومُ شُهودُ

    Meanings: through them and from them come proofs concerning them;

    and within them, for them, is witnessing of what they seek.

    And were it not for the whole's dissolution through the power

    whose absoluteness has constraints within their union,

    no existent would ever cease to be, nor would there vanish

    traces and limits through the forms of decay.

    فَلَيْسَ لَهَا في الدَّوْرِ قَطُّ جُموُدُ

    Yet they reach the limit that defines them;

    so in their revolution they never stand still.

    And if they ever halted at a limit, they would suffer

    nonbeing thereby—impossible, for they are Being!
