أمّارتان .. بشوقٍ لا حدود له

وما أبرئ نفسًا للهوى  .. كادتْ

وما أبرئ نفسًا للهوى .. كادتْ

Two urging souls ... with a longing that knows no bounds.

Two doves...with endless longing

Nor do I absolve a soul that schemed for passion.

And I do not absolve myself of passion...it almost

والعذرُ للنفسِ إن همّت بما فُتِنتْ

والعذرُ للنفسِ إن همّت بما فُتِنتْ

أو راودتْ شغَفًا .. أو أنّها .. كادتْ

أو راودتْ شغَفًا .. أو أنّها .. كادتْ

And the soul is excused if it desired what captivated it,

And the excuse for the soul if it intends what it is tempted by

Or courted passion ... or it ... almost did.

Or it harbored intense desire...or that it...almost
