I held wedding celebrations in your name within my ribs.

And began filling the cup with its tenderness.

Your love is magic—why should I not melt with lovesickness,

And borrow breaths to bring it to life?

You marshaled your words so that you might dwell here,

In the soul, holding the myrtle captive amid its longings.

O you who have claimed me—I give my soul to none

Except the one who was a beacon among people.

For God's sake, for God's sake—be gentle with a heart for which I set apart

The purest feelings as gatekeepers and guards.
