How often he coaxed the dawn to yield a soul possessed
How often has morning dissuaded a soul possessed
by the spell of coquetry and love for the kind, tender one.
By the magic of tenderness and love of gentle affection

O emblem of dawn, my soul is the soul of a woman in love;
O dawn's radiance, my soul is a lover's soul
take it by love's decree, freely, without a price.
Take it by right of passion, willingly without price
