عيناه أوثقتا قيدي .. وضحكتُه
جرتْflowed كسلسلِlike sweet, clear ماءٍwater فيin شرايينيmy arteries
جرتْ كسلسلِ ماءٍ في شراييني
His eyes tightened my bonds ... and his laughter
His eyes have bound me, his laughter
Flowed like sweet, clear water through my arteries.
Flows like a chain of water through my veins
تخطّفتْنِيsnatched me away إلىinto اللّاوعيِunconsciousness هيبتُهhis awe-inspiring presence
تخطّفتْنِي إلى اللّاوعيِ هيبتُه
وصمتُهand his silence منto (with 'draws me near') صميمِthe very heart of الصّحوِwakefulness يُدنِينيdraws me near
وصمتُه من صميمِ الصّحوِ يُدنِيني
His awe-inspiring presence snatched me into unconsciousness,
His awe has snatched me to the unconscious
And his silence draws me close to the very heart of wakefulness.
His silence from the core of consciousness draws me near
