Alas for what your eyes have done to the heart,

And what your front teeth have stirred, and how they have beguiled!

I drowned—or nearly did, I cannot tell—for drunkenness has overtaken

My limbs, from the sweetness of your face.

Desist, may I be your ransom; what you have hastened to do is enough.

And withhold your magic until the day I meet you.
