إذا ابيضّتْ بفوديكَ الليالي
وآذنَand signaled وهجُthe glow عمركَof your life بالزّوالِof fading away
وآذنَ وهجُ عمركَ بالزّوالِ
When the nights grow white at your temples,
And the glow of your life signals its fading,
حياتكَyour life فيin صلاحكَyour righteousness .. فاغْتَنمهاso make the most of it
حياتكَ في صلاحكَ .. فاغْتَنمها
ودعْand leave دربَthe path الغوايةِof temptation والضّلالِand error
ودعْ دربَ الغوايةِ والضّلالِ
Your life lies in your righteousness—so make the most of it,
And leave the path of temptation and error.
غرورٌdeception هذهthis الدّنياthe world .. وآلٌand a mirage
غرورٌ هذه الدّنيا .. وآلٌ
فماso what يغريكَentices you .. فيin فانٍsomething fleeting وآلِand a mirage
فما يغريكَ .. في فانٍ وآلِ
This world is deception and a mirage;
What, then, draws you to something fleeting—a mirage?
