A king seated himself upon the heart’s throne.
A king upon the throne of my heart enthroned
He ruled the limbs and took possession of the ribs.
Who ruled my limbs and made the ribs his own

Such is the way of kings: when they take possession, they subdue.
The wont of kings, whene'er they make their seat
Why, then, should I not yield and submit?
Is to subdue; wherefore I cannot but bow me down
