وتعفّand abstains روحيmy soul عنfrom سواكanyone but you وتزهدُand turns away
وتعفّ روحي عن سواك وتزهدُ
لاno عشقَlove فيfor غيرother than الثريّاthe Pleiades يُحمدُis praised
لا عشقَ في غير الثريّا يُحمدُ
And my soul abstains from all but you and turns away.
My soul is purified of all but You, disdaining
No love for anything but the Pleiades is praised.
All love but Yours, for none but Yours is praised.
قلبيmy heart ولاand no تثريبreproach ياأهلO people of الهوىlove
قلبي ولا تثريب ياأهل الهوى
كلفٌenamored بأحمدَof Ahmad والجوارحُand the limbs تشهدُbear witness
كلفٌ بأحمدَ والجوارحُ تشهدُ
My heart—and no reproach, O people of love—
My heart bears no reproach, O people of passion!
is enamored of Ahmad, and the limbs bear witness.
It is possessed by Ahmad, though my being testifies.
ياربّO Lord صلّsend blessings علىupon الحبيبِthe beloved وآلِهand his family
ياربّ صلّ على الحبيبِ وآلِه
تعدادthe number of ماwhat شَهدbore witness العبيدُthe servants ووحدواand affirmed God's oneness
تعداد ما شَهد العبيدُ ووحدوا
O Lord, bless the beloved and his family,
O Lord! Bestow blessings upon the Beloved and his kin
as many times as the servants have borne witness and affirmed Your oneness.
As numerous as the testaments of servants who affirmed His Oneness.
