إنّindeed البخيلthe miser إذاwhen ذكرتَyou mention محمداًMuhammad
إنّ البخيل إذا ذكرتَ محمداً
عقدbinds اللسانَthe tongue ، ونالand reaps منfrom فمهhis mouth الردىdoom
عقد اللسانَ ، ونال من فمه الردى
Truly, the miser, when you mention Muhammad,
Indeed, the miser, when you mention Muhammad,
has his tongue tied, and ruin befalls his mouth.
binds his tongue and reaps doom from his mouth.
صلّواsend blessings علىupon المختارthe Chosen One ماas long as صلّىprays الورىhumankind
صلّوا على المختار ما صلّى الورى
جُعلتwas made لهfor him روحيmy soul ، وأنفاسيand my breaths فداa ransom
جُعلت له روحي ، وأنفاسي فدا
Send blessings upon the Chosen One as long as all creation prays;
Send blessings upon the Chosen One as long as humankind prays.
may my soul and every breath be made a sacrifice for him.
My soul and my breaths have been made a ransom for him.
