1. We have endured many calamities
And turned around much misfortune

2. Inform our people we have perished
The fortune-tellers and diviners are exhausted

3. It was easy for us what was most difficult
And some of the people are mean and despicable

4. So I said to them, O my people it is clear
Be those who set out with it and stand

5. With a delegation from the chiefs of Banu Tamim
To their likes the orphan takes refuge

6. For you to ward it off is an obligation
Upon you is a great duty to your people

7. And you are in the grip of one with calamity
And the right of the king is great and exposed
