1. O absent one, and the soul's whispers tend it,
I have entrusted my blood to you, and God is its keeper,
2. Send greetings there when it comes to mind,
And say to it: (Indeed I am infatuated with love for him
3. And though his features are absent
I still have hope that I will meet him again)
4. O dweller in my conscience, my pain has howled,
So listen to the connected sorrow's complaint,
5. And draw near a heart you do not deny,
It has endured from his oppression what it had feared,
6. Indeed I sent to you the letter suffocating,
Overflowing from its pulse with tender meaning,
7. So extend to it from your hands the connection where it came
And scatter your fragrances they wander in its folds,
8. And flutter for that sweet time in confusion,
And return with it so we may enjoy remembering it,
9. If my specter passes, turn to it, for it is tired,
And make way for the fervor of the heart is its pavement,
10. As for when the gentle breezes pass bearing me,
Then be kind to one who cried: (Oh the burning of its heart!)
11. I have loved you, the green, tender meadow, resting
Its folds have hummed and its corners adorned,
12. So how can I deny a heart whose companion you are?
And how can I deny a love whose master you are?
13. I swore: (Indeed, by the Lord of the house, I love him
If time harms me, I will not forget him)
