فَماso not رَجعواthey returned حَتّىuntil رَأَواthey saw مِنfrom مُحَمَّدٍMuhammad
فَما رَجعوا حَتّى رَأَوا مِن مُحَمَّدٍ
أَحاديثَhappenings تَجلوdispel هَمَّgrief كُلِّevery فُؤادِheart
أَحاديثَ تَجلو هَمَّ كُلِّ فُؤادِ
So they did not return until they had witnessed Muhammad's
Deeds that dispel the grief of every heart.
وَحَتّىand until رَأَواthey saw أَحبارَreligious scholars كُلِّevery مَدينَةٍcity
وَحَتّى رَأَوا أَحبارَ كُلِّ مَدينَةٍ
سُجوداًprostrate لَهُbefore him مِنamong عُصبَةٍa group وَفُرادِand singly
سُجوداً لَهُ مِن عُصبَةٍ وَفُرادِ
And until they saw the religious scholars of every city
Prostrate before him, in groups and singly:
ذَرِيراًDharir وَتَمّاماًand Tamam وَقَدand indeed كانَwas شاهِداًa witness
ذَرِيراً وَتَمّاماً وَقَد كانَ شاهِداً
دَريسٌDaris وَهَمّواand they intended كُلُّهُمall of them بِفَسادِto cause harm
دَريسٌ وَهَمّوا كُلُّهُم بِفَسادِ
Dharir and Tamam—and present as a witness was
Daris; and all of them intended harm.
فَقالَthen he said لَهُمto them قَولاًwords بَحيراBahira وَأَيقَنواand they became certain
فَقالَ لَهُم قَولاً بَحيرا وَأَيقَنوا
لَهُby him بَعدَafter تَكذيبٍdenial وَطولِand length of بِعادِestrangement
لَهُ بَعدَ تَكذيبٍ وَطولِ بِعادِ
Then Bahira spoke to them, and they were convinced
By him, after denial and long estrangement.
كَماjust as قالَhe said لِلرهطِto the band الَّذينِwho تَهَوَّدواthey embraced Judaism
كَما قالَ لِلرهطِ الَّذينِ تَهَوَّدوا
وَجاهَدَهُمand he strove against them فيfor اللَهِGod كُلَّevery جِهادِeffort
وَجاهَدَهُم في اللَهِ كُلَّ جِهادِ
Just as he spoke to the band who had embraced Judaism
And strove against them for God's sake, striving to the utmost.
فَقالَthen he said وَلَمand did not يَترُكleave لَهُfor him النُصحُsincere counsel رِدَّةًa turning back
فَقالَ وَلَم يَترُك لَهُ النُصحُ رِدَّةً
فَإِنَّfor indeed لَهُfor him إِرصادَlying in wait كُلِّevery مَصادِhunting ground
فَإِنَّ لَهُ إِرصادَ كُلِّ مَصادِ
Then he said—sincere counsel left him no turning back—
For an ambush awaits him at every hunting ground.
فَإِنّيfor indeed I أَخافُI fear الحاسِدينَthe envious وَإِنَّهُand indeed he
فَإِنّي أَخافُ الحاسِدينَ وَإِنَّهُ
لَفيsurely in الكُتبِthe books مَكتوبٌrecorded بِكُلِّwith every مِدادِink
لَفي الكُتبِ مَكتوبٌ بِكُلِّ مِدادِ
For I fear the envious, and indeed he
Is recorded in the books, in ink of every kind.
Sol 6.1
