And a gazelle among humankind’s daughters—in her hand

And face is the seal of youth and beauty.

قد حللت لؤلؤ الازرار عن درر

لهن في ثغرها الفضي أتوام

She has unfastened pearl buttons, revealing pearls

Whose twins lie in her silvery mouth.

وزارت الروض منها مقلتان لها

وحشيتان وعذب الريق بسام

And the garden was visited by her two eyes—

Both wild—and a smiling mouth with sweet saliva.

And the cup is a goldsmith for golden wine,

And water a stringer of pearly bubbles.
