أفديI would ransom الذيthe one who قالَsaid وفيand in كَفِّهِhis palm
أفدي الذي قالَ وفي كَفِّهِ
مثلُthe like of الذيthat which أشرَبُI drink منfrom فيهِhis mouth
مثلُ الذي أشرَبُ من فيهِ
I would give my life for the one who said, while in his palm
I would give my life for him who said, while in his palm
was something like what I drink from his mouth:
was the like of what I drink from his mouth:
الوردُthe rose قدalready أَينَعَripened فيon وَجنتيmy cheek
الوردُ قد أَينَعَ في وَجنتي
قُلتُI said فميmy mouth باللَّثمِwith kisses يَجِنيهِplucks it
قُلتُ فمي باللَّثمِ يَجِنيهِ
“The rose has ripened upon my cheek.”
“The rose has ripened on my cheek.”
I said, “My mouth shall pluck it with kisses.”
I said, “My mouth will pluck it with kisses.”
