كَأَنas though صادَفواthey found دونيinstead of me بِهِin it لَحماًflesh
كَأَن صادَفوا دوني بِهِ لَحماً
ضافَcame as a guest to الرِتاجَةَal-Ritājah (meaning uncertain) فيin رَحلِthe dwelling of تَباذيرِTabādhīr
ضافَ الرِتاجَةَ في رَحلِ تَباذيرِ
As though they had found flesh there instead of me,
As though they met me with it as a feast of flesh,
Which had come as a guest to al-Ritājah at Tabādhīr's dwelling.
adding confusion to the saddles of squanderers.
