That anguish and that burning have died,

And a gazelle, tender toward me, took pity on me.

And sleep flowed from my eyelids like

tears, and the yearning heart found comfort.

Time was kind to me through my lord, and Time,

when it wills, is kind to hearts.

So, by my right and my honor, do not curse Time

unjustly, for it is my friend.
