وَقفٌ عَلَيكَ إِلى أَن تُنشَرَ الصُوَرُ
O heir to kingship, kingship is held in reserve,
O heir of the kingdom, the kingdom is withheld
Dedicated to you until the bodies are raised to life.
From you until the Trumpet is blown.

Generosity was never mentioned without your wading into its valley,
Generosity is not mentioned unless you pass through its valley,
Nor was the sword unsheathed without fate fearing you.
Nor is the sword unsheathed unless destiny fears you.

It harms no one who now has al-Ma'mun as his ruler
It does no harm to one who rules, being protected by
That neither Abu Bakr nor Umar has ruled him.
Abu Bakr and Umar.

And the earth suffers no harm, while al-Ma'mun rules it,
With al-Ma’mun ruling the earth,
If neither sun nor moon shines for us.
It matters not that we have no sun or moon.
