O ailing one who filled the breast with fire,

In you, the guardian of neighbors was my neighbor.

The source of beauty and charm has be-

come a source and dwelling place for sickness.

Fever's face is indeed a brazen face,

when it assails him by day, in plain sight.

It did not mar his lovely face, and yet

it turned the rose of his cheek into pomegranate blossom.
