يا أَيُّها الشادِنُ الرَخيمُ
Love for you dwells within my breast.
Your love resides among the sands
O you sweet-voiced young gazelle!
O you, the slender and gentle one

أَبدَعَ في طيبِهِ النَعيمُ
Indeed, by a cheek crowned with roses,
On the cheek rested by a rose
in whose sweetness bliss has worked wonders,
Bliss has excelled in its fragrance

you have surely taken possession of a heart
You have seized a heart
that your languid gaze has made ill.
Made ill by your languid glance
