If you blend the beauty of faith
If youthful goodness ripens in you, marked by virtue and fine manners,
within you with virtuous conduct,
Then be as you wish, for you have succeeded through noble lineage.

فَلَحَت بِأَكرَمِ النَسَبِ
then be descended from whomever you wish, for indeed
But tend to your own soul and set it right,
you have prospered through the noblest lineage.
And leave me be, for I am of an ancient lineage.

وَدَعني مِن قَديمِ أَبِ
So reform your own self alone,
and spare me talk of an ancient forefather.
